Moultonborough Recognizes 2008 Adopt A Spot Participants

At its meeting of September 11th, the Moultonborough Board of Selectmen heaped praise upon the participants in the Town’s program to beautify prominent public locations by having them adopted by local businesses and individuals.  Seven businesses or service clubs and two families adopted 10 spots throughout the community ranging from the Town entry sign at Center Harbor to the larger scale Sutherland Park.

All were given certificates of appreciation and the top three spots were given special plaques of recognition, after a judging by local gardeners.  A joint First Place went to the Moultonborough Lions Club and Moultonborough Aubuchon for their efforts at Sutherland Park.  Second Place went to Miracle Farms Landscaping for the entry sign at the Center Harbor Town line.  The work of James and Karen Nigzus and family on Playground Drive was recognized with third place.  Other participants included Pine Ridge Lawn and Landscaping, Dion's Plant Place & Landscapes, Moultonborough Cycling Club, Donnybrook Home Services, and Mr. Al Hume.

Karel Crawford, Chairman of the Moultonborough Selectmen said, “We can’t thank these participants enough for their efforts in improving the quality of life in our community.  We received many positive comments and the abundant color brought joy to many.  We hope that each resident and visitor takes an opportunity to say thank you to these participants as well.”  Several other Board members declared the program a resounding success and an example of why they are proud to live in the community.  Applicants for the 2009 program will probably be advertised sometime in March of next year.
